On Nightmares and Zolpidem

Again to Zolpidem, I say "WTF?".  I suppose it's interesting remembering your dreams when you're awake and laughing at the absurd images - but when you take the whole "on mood stabilizers" situation into count, my dreams go from fatuously absurd to downright creepy and surreal.

In my dream I was driving in my car, trying to go to a restaurant where my family was.  I got lost (naturally), and while on the phone with someone getting directions, the road literally disappeared into a very, very green field of grass.  Romany music started playing from my stereo, even though it was turned off, and the same music was emanating from the phone I was using.  I drove on, seeing two stone pillars set about 30 feet from each other that signaled the entrance to whatever this place was.  I could see little sparks of blue randomly swirl out from the skin of my car as I drove.  Children ran through the streets, laughing, chasing each other, seemingly oblivious to the car.

As I continued down this road that wasn't a road, I could see Romany people gathered in small groups - laughing and talking.  Random caravans sprinkled amongst the wild overgrowth of the native land.  It was evening, the stars were out, but there was some sort of pale light that made it just bright enough to see by, but the source was unknown to me.  A dog lay down in the road and refused to move.

I waited for it to continue whatever journey it was on tonight, but it just lay there, gazing at someone to my left.  I looked and realized a man now stood outside my driver-side door, smiling at me.  I rolled down my window.

"Excuse me, would you be able to ask your dog to move?  I'm driving this way and he is blocking my path." I asked.

The man looked at me, still smiling.  "He only moves if you give him gas money."

"Why does a dog need gas money?  Dogs don't drive."  I said.

I was cursed by Gypsies
and all I got was a soul
and a TV show.
Which was exactly the wrong thing to say.  Apparently pointing out logic in a Vincent Gan Gogh inspired dream world will net you a dream Gypsy Curse, a sudden waking to reality and a frantic call to your husband telling him if he sees any Gypsies today to be sure to be polite and share his money with them.

I am NEVER taking this sleep-aid again.
